MOUMITA SI PALLACHULLA

Moumita’s professional background encompasses roles as a Special Education teacher, Individualized Education Program (IEP) coordinator, and Inclusion advocate within the Albuquerque Public School District in New Mexico. During this tenure, she actively participated in and facilitated IEP and 504 meetings, assuming the lead role of IEP coordinator and representing the schools.
Following her relocation to California, Moumita pursued a Special Education Advocacy certificate from the University of San Diego, CA, subsequently initiating her private practice of Special Education Advocacy services to parents. Her advocacy efforts have positively impacted numerous families, championing for the rights of their children.
Drawing from her firsthand experiences as an IEP head coordinator, Moumita has developed a profound ability to empathize with her clients and their families, informed by her personal journey. Her intimate comprehension of her students’ requirements, coupled with the enduring relationships she has cultivated with parents, renders her a uniquely qualified advocate.
Moumita staunchly advocates for inclusion, a commitment that led to her appointment as the Inclusion advocate at her schools in NM. She firmly believes in the efficacy of integrating children with special needs into regular education classes supplemented with appropriate support and services. Emphasizing the mutual learning and social benefits of inclusive settings, she advocates for the placement of children with special needs in their local schools alongside their typical peers, aligning with the foundational principles of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Motivated by the challenges faced by families within the intricate educational system, Moumita transitioned from her teaching role within the school districts to establish Learning Comet’s Special Education Advocacy services, aiming to continue her mission of assisting families.
